4 Day Week

As a student of course a 4 day week sounds like a great move, but is it really the best thing for schooling? There are pros and cons to a 4 day week, just as there are to all things. some of the biggest pros would be longer time away from school to get more rest and more activity. Most students do not get the proper amount of sleep one needs to be effective. A longer weekend could provide more rest and as a chance to catch up on sleep lost during the week. A major con to a 4 day week would be less time in the class room, less time to learn all the things you need to know for the year. Things would be rushed and you wouldn’t be able to go into as great of detail and really learn the material. Those are just a few of the pros and cons of a 4 day week of school.

Succsess

For me success is pretty easy to define. It’s to be happy and stable. No matter what you’re doing, how much money you make, you’ll be a miserable person if you aren’t happy. Happiness can be achieved many ways, through friends, family, or anything that you enjoy. But you also have to be stable. You know you have enough money to pay rent, to have dinner tonight. You’re making enough money to live a normal everyday life. If that’s what they want of course, if they don’t want that? More power to them. This is what success means to me.

Favorite Class

My favorite class of my freshman year has been geometry. I enjoy geometry for many reasons. For one I’m good at it, who likes something they aren’t good at? Also all of my friends are in it with me. Finally I enjoy Mrs. Groves as a teacher, she’s pretty funny and easy to get along with. All year I have had good grades in there and a lot of fun with my friends. I’ve learned a lot and at the same time have had fun. That’s why geometry is my favorite class.

Family Lessons

My family has taught me a lot in my 16 years on this earth. Two things in specific would be to never give up and have pride in everything you do. My parents have been the biggest influences on my life, they have played such a big part in my life and  I have taken a lot from them. Never give up are words that you’ll hear a lot in the Sizer house, anything from sports, to school, to just anything in life. These words are a great example on how i try to live my life every single day, right now it has more meaning then ever. Ever since my Dad was taken to the hospital I have thought, what if my dad gave up? It’d be very easy for him to but he doesn’t. I also believe it very important to have pride in the things you do. You should care about what you do and want it to be the best you can make it, if you put your pride into your work it’ll be the best you can do. I believe this is why I excel in many things I do. Hard work and pride will go a long way, and have learned this from may family.

Who should get the last name?

A thing that used to be very uniform but over the years it has been changing. A couple years ago there would be no question that the woman would take the mans last name. Now you start to see it more and more that either the man gets the woman’s last name or that they take both last names and combine them. I don’t think there’s a definite answer to this question. I believe  it is very situational and all depends on the couple. If the woman wants to take the last name, as it’s traditionally done, then that’s great, but if the woman doesn’t want to give her name up then there would be a conversation to be had. So in review I believe that all relationships are different and it is really just up to them to do what they want.

Keeping Secrets

Personally I find it easy to keep a secret. I can see how it would be hard to though, but I have the self control to just not say it. I have plenty of secrets myself so I could understand someone not wanting one to get out. I believe there are certain times where you should tell someone’s secrets. Maybe if it put someone in danger or something along those lines. I honestly prefer not to hear other people’s secrets, I just try to mind my own business.

Love At First Sight

I believe in love at first sight to a degree. I believe that you can look at someone and think you want to know them or even that you might like them. However I do not believe that someone can simple look at someone and know that they love them. It takes a lot of time and being around someone before I can truly say I love them. The only things I can say I love are my friends and family. So in conclusion love at first sight is a bit much but maybe like at first sight would be more appropriate.

Seven Commandments

Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

– this is a bad rule because some animals only have two legs, and I foresee them running into a animal with two legs and this causes complications.

Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend.

– this is a good rule because most animals have four legs and or wings, I don’t foresee any problem from this rule.

No animal shall wear clothes.

– this is a good rule because they don’t want to adopt any human qualities. I don’t foresee any problems with this rule.

No animal shall sleep in a bed.

– this is a good rule because they want to stay as animals and not become humans. The only problem I could foresee with this rule is an animal trying to sleep in a bed.

No animal shall drink alcohol.

– this is a good rule because they saw how Mr. Jones was when he drank and they don’t want to be like that. I foresee an animal starts drinking and hurts another animal.

No animal shal kill another animal.

– this is a good rule because obviously they shouldn’t be murdering each other. I foresee an animal killings another one and it causing a huge deal.

All animals are equal.

– this is a good rule because all animals should be treated equal. I foresee not all animals being treated as equal.
